Independent Living Skills Trainer - Southern Tier Region

This is a very rewarding position, working 1:1 with brain injury survivors and people with disabilities, helping them develop and work on goals to rebuild their skills and increase their independence in their home and local community.

Independent Living Skills Training (ILST) may include assessment, training, and supervision of, or assistance to, a consumer with issues related to self-care, medication management, task completion, communication skills, interpersonal skills, socialization, sensory/motor skills, mobility, community transportation skills, reduction/elimination of maladaptive behaviors, problem solving skills, money management, pre-vocational skills and skills to maintain a household.

ILST services are provided in the consumer's home and community on a 1:1 basis

Job Specifications

Must have any of the following: Masters degree in Social Work or Human Services, Registered Physical Therapist, Registered Occupational Therapist, Licensed Speech/Language Pathologist, Registered Professional Nurse, Certified Education Teacher, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Or Master Or Doctorate Of Psychology with one (1) year experience working with individuals with disabilities providing functionally based assessments, developing a comprehensive treatment plan and teaching individuals with disabilities to be more functionally independent
OR Bachelor’s degree with 2 years experience in related field and similar experience
OR Associates Degree with 3 years experience in related field and similar experience
OR High School degree/equivalency with 4 years experience in related field and similar experience.
This position requires travel.
